Twin Transit Honors Local Advocate

Twin Transit is honored to dedicate the new Market Street Bus Stop to longtime transit advocate Jean Fairgrieve.

Jean organized volunteers and collected signatures in the 1970’s, which got public transit placed on the ballot. The measure was voter approved in 1976, resulting in the establishment of public transit in the Twin Cities.

Our local transit system has grown exponentially since then, and expanded to include LIFTT service, a DARTT dial-a-ride program, clean energy integration, community service support, and two physical locations.

Thank you, Jean, for all your hard work. It has benefitted many lives in our community!

Thank you to The Chronicle for this wonderful article and photos of the dedication.
